Sundays at the Center -- The West Point/Clay County Arts Council hosts Heavenly Metal of the South, a steel drum band from Starkville's First United Methodist Church, at 2 p.m. at the Louise Campbell Center for the Arts, 235 Commerce St., West Point. Free to the public. 

 

 

 

Thursday, June 21 

 

Sounds of Summer -- Big Hoss and The Little Joes entertain from 7-9 p.m. at the Columbus Riverwalk for Sounds of Summer. Bring lawn chairs or blankets for this free concert. No coolers or pets. Food and drink vendors will offer concessions. Presented by the Columbus Lowndes Chamber of Commerce and Main Street Columbus.  

 

Downtown at Sundown -- Starkville's free summer concert is 7-9 p.m. on Main Street downtown. Bring lawn chairs and blankets. No coolers. Food and drink vendors will be on site.  

 

 

 

Friday, June 22  

 

Viva Las Elvis -- The Columbus Arts Council presents a Viva Las Elvis Party at 7 p.m. with music by The Dips, plus Elvis and Priscilla look-alike contests and hamburger plates ($10) at the Rosenzweig Arts Center main gallery, 501 Main St. Members $15 advance/$17 at door; nonmemers $20 advance/$22 at door. 4-H Fun Day -- Mississippi State University Extension Service and Lowndes County 4-H invite community youth ages 5-18 to a free 4-H Fun Day from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at 485 Tom Rose Road, Columbus. For registration information, call the Lowndes Extension office, 662-328-2111.
